POSITION DETAILS:

The Vice President of Acute Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)will develop and expand the leadership capabilities of the Nursing Management team to more fully integrate the concepts of Relationship Based Care in a Magnet Culture and Lean thinking and execution into operational practice.

Through a successful shared governance program consisting of four Councils, including Research, Practice, Quality, and Professional Development, and along with related relationships, processes and structures, this CNO will ensure the delivery of consistent, high level nursing care throughout the hospital.

With a direct reporting relationship to the Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations, this CNO will work closely with the Vice President for Ambulatory Services and Core Physicians to enhance continuity of care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will be a Master's prepared nurse, holding either a BSN or MSN, though both are preferred, along with five to seven years of management experience in a fairly complex environment; experience in the CNO role is preferred.

The individual will be patient-focused and ideally have experience within a Magnet organization, or an organization on the journey to Magnet status, along with a strong understanding of operations and a proven track record of improving performance and outcomes.

Outstanding interpersonal communication skills are essential to enable a strong connection with the nursing staff; the ideal candidate will be visible, flexible, a team player, collaborative, and willing to challenge the status quo.
